Here’s the thing about things that are easy. I was working at a conference once and a lady approached me because she could not find the room where her breakout session was being held. After showing her the way to the room she was looking for, she thanked me profusely. I tried to quickly wave it off by saying, “No problem; that was easy.” Her response changed my worldview. She said, “It might have been easy for you, but it was extremely valuable to me.”
We should be doubling down on the things that are easy for us. It is human nature to give the least value to the things that we are very good at and that come very easy to us. We also tend to assign the most value to the things that are hard for us or that we cannot do. Then we struggle to get better at the things we are bad at because we believe those things are valuable.
All of the things that you are good at and that come easy to you are valuable to others who find them difficult or impossible to accomplish. We should be focused on cashing in on the things that are easy for us. Find ways to monetize the things that are most easy for you and provide the most value to others.
